The USDA Commodity Foods Program provides a variety of nutritious, free foods that enable low-income families to stretch their grocery dollars. Volunteers donate their time and efforts to help make the USDA food available to their neighbors. Funding is provided by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture.
Eligibility is determined by an income scale based on 150% of the poverty level or the client must be a current recipient of food stamps, Families First, SSI, LIHEAP or be a public housing resident. Recipients must register at our office in order to receive a punch card to pick up food.
